I apologize for my lack of updating on this group.  I've been very busy working, doing holiday things, and of course, playing roller derby.  My derby league, the Queen City Roller Girls, are having their first bout on Saturday night.  My team, the Devil Dollies are playing against the Nickel City Knockouts.  This is the league's second season, which means we have some experience under our belt.  Hopefully this bout will showcase how far we've come since last season, as well as bring a Devil Dollies victory ;) 

How is your team and league doing this season?  Any growing pains?  Any great events going on?

Last night my team the Devil Dollies bouted against the Nickel City Knockouts, and we won 115-96.  The game was great, since both teams are fairly evenly matched as far as skill is involved.  The Knockouts might have won if they didn't have so many injuries.  Either way, it was a great to bout with my derby sisters, and I think the crowd had an awesome time.

Luckily, I didn't sustain any horrific injuries.  I landed on my ass and back on the rope lights, but I think I'm going to be okay.  I'm just going to have a killer bruise, which is a badge of honor for any derby girl.  It's nothing a few pain pills and some cuddles can't cure.

I'll try and post pictures as soon as I get them.  Also, there should be a highlight video coming out soon as well (woo hoo!). 

Oh yeah, I'm going to try to post in this blog more often.  Between work, roller derby, and life in general, it gets hard to keep up with all of the blogs I have.  I'm sure you understand :)

What was your worst cooking experience?

Back when I was in college I was trying to impress a boyfriend at the time for Valentine's Day.  Well, the apartment I lived in had an oven that way way-off on it's temperature.  However, I didn't really know this.  I put in heart-shaped brownie in the oven, and ten minutes later the smoke detector went off!  The brownies were BLACK and as hard a coal.  However, he was nice enough to at least eat one of them, haha!!

I can't bake to save my life.  I even burned the corn muffins I made for dinner the other night.  I'll leave the baking to my friends ;)

What are some charitable causes that you support or would like to support?

I support the Special Olympics, because my twin brother Wally has autism and participated in them for many years.  Also, I'm a big supporter of domestic violence and rape charities, due to some unfortunate personal experiences in my life.
